Sensus Amerika Serikat 1870 adalah sensus Amerika Serikat kesembilan. Sensus tersebut dilakukan oleh Census Bureau dari 1 Juni 1870 sampai 23 Agustus 1871. Sensus tahun 1870 adalah sensus pertama yang menyediakan informasi mendetil soal populasi Afrika-Amerika , hanya lima tahun usai puncak Perang Saudara saat para budak diberikan kebebasan. Total populasinya berjumlah 38.925.598 dengan populasi tetap 38.558.371 [ 1 ] orang, meningkat 22.6% dari tahun 1860.
